Sunday Funday @ Sneaky Pete's

Everyone had been talking about going to Sneaky Pete's all summer, so we finally found a Sunday to make it happen.  Talan had a soccer game at 9:15.  Everyone came to his game to cheer him on and I know it made him feel awesome.  Talan and Kendall left with Debbie and Paul after the game and we went on to have breakfast at Cracker Barrel.  We made it to Sneaky Pete's about 1pm.  We played volleyball most of the day.  We took a break for a bit to watch the United States men's national team win the CONCACAF Gold Cup.  Christina brought us some amazing cupcakes.  The people wouldn't let us bring them in, so we had to go to the car and scarf them down.  They were a little melted but still tasted amazing.  My arms were so bruised from playing volleyball all day. But it was a great time with great friends.

Friday night boat cruise

Debbie had found a groupon for a sunset cruise on Lake Ray Hubbard.  We all met for dinner at Ruby Tuesdays down at the Harbor.  We boarded the boat at 7 and set sail.  A few minutes into our ride it started to rain.  We quickly moved down to the first deck which was covered.  It rained pretty good for about 15 minutes or so.  Once it stopped, we went back up to the top deck to watch the sunset and enjoy the beautiful weather.  It was a very relaxing evening.

United States vs. Honduras

The United States men's national team was playing at Cowboy Stadium against Honduras. We were quick to get tickets as this opportunity rises very rarely.  We drove to Arlington and got into the stadium about 2 minutes into the start of the game.  Traffic is horrible trying to get down here and there was also a Ranger game tonight. The game was very exciting. We won the game 3-1.  We took Talan and he had a lot of fun.  Kendall got to have some fun too, as she went to the Ranger game with Debbie and Paul.

Summer Adventures at Fair Park

We went to the Summer Adventures at Fair Park today.  They have shows, rides, exhibits and concessions open.  We met Melinda at 10am.  There was no one there.  The lines to the rides were almost non-existent.  Talan was big enough to ride almost everything.  Kendall, not so much.  I think she still had fun.  We ate lunch around noon.  We let the kids run through the water to cool off.  We saw the dog and cat show.  Talan did the flow rider for the first time ever.  He did really well all things considered.  The people that were working that particular attraction were very patient and even helped him learn how to do it.  Kendall napped for awhile during this time.  I left early to go meet Randy to buy our new car.  The kids stayed with Melinda and rode more rides.  Although only a portion of Fair Park was open, there was plenty to do and I think it was a really great value for the amount paid.  We will definitely go again next summer.

Vegas Day 3

On Tuesday morning we were going to have lunch at Cousin Habib's Persian restaurant off of the strip.  I had been talking to his nephew, Amir to let him know we were coming.  When we got there, he had an amazing spread made up for us.  The food was amazing as usual.  Everyone was very appreciative of his hospitality.  While at lunch, Amir told us he worked for Caesar's entertainment.  He could get us into Pure for free, get us a cabana, a free bottle of vodka and a discounted 2nd bottle.  We were totally in!  We were going to meet up with him about 11 at Pure.

After lunch, a couple of us went down and hung out by the pool for a bit.  Everyone else took a nap.

We all got ready for the evening out.  We took a limo down to Stratosphere.  We were gonna eat dinner at Felini's, an Italian restaurant and then go up to the top of the Stratosphere.

After dinner Veronica, Alec, Troy and Avery rode the Xstreme. It basically sends you off the side of the tower and holds you overlooking the strip.  Yeah, I wasn't about that, so Randy and I took pictures.

Dinner was really good.  Randy and I shared chicken parmasian and a Caesar salad.  I am glad we did because it was a lot.

We took the limo back down to Caesar's where we met up with Estevan, Josh and Amir.  On the way up to the cabana, we got 3 stamps.  We were VIP!  We got set up with our first bottle of vodka.  We went through that in about 20 minutes.  When that one was gone, all of us except Randy and Estevan went down to the first level to check it out down there.  We hung out dancing for about 45 minutes.  When we came back up, there was another bottle of vodka on the table.  Apparently while we were gone, Randy took it upon himself to order a $500 bottle of Skyy vodka.  There was some confusion about the discounted bottle. Amir was the savior and we actually got a 3rd bottle for the $500.  Whatever, we had an amazing time.  At this point, everyone was feeling pretty good.  So about 2:30am Amir told us he had a limo waiting downstairs for us.  We were on our way to Sapphire's.  I will just leave the rest for those of us that were there.  Afterall, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right?  We got back to our hotel around 4:30am.  We had to be up at 9am to get to the airport.
