Disney day 2

On Friday, we got up and went to eat at Dennys before heading to Disney.  Randy and Troy dropped us off at tge Magic Kingdom train. They were headed to Daytona for a practice and team dinner. We headed into the park and got Paul a scooter and the kids a stroller. We made our way to the first ride of the day and it started to rain on us. It wasn't heavy, but annoying enough. So we went to do Pirates since it was inside. Talan and I went to ride Thunder Mountain afterwards and Debbie found a great spot for Kendall to play while they waited. We did the Haunted Mansion next. It was lunch time, so we stopped to take a break and eat. There is a new area called FantasyLand that is meant to take after Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid. They are in the process of building a new ride from Snow White. We rode the Under the Sea ride. We then waited to get Winnie the Pooh and Tigger's autograph. Debbie rode tea cups with the kids while Paul and I sat that one out. Talan and I did the race cars. Talan drove and I pushed the pedal. Unfortunately we got stuck behind some people who didn't know how to drive, so it wasn't as fun. We went into Tomorrowland and they had a dance party going on. Kendall and Debbie had a blast. We rode Buzz Lightyear and got his autograph. I wanted Talan to ride Space Mountain but he was just a bit too short. I wasnt going to push it this time around. Talan and I rode a little coaster and Debbie rode Dumbo with the kids. We then went to Main street to watch the show on the castle and fireworks. I wanted to shop, so Debbie and Paul hung out with the kids for a bit. Randy and Troy got back in time to pick us up. We got some Wendy's for dinner on the way home and went to bed. It had been a long and exciting day.

Florida day 1

On Thursday, January 17, we were on our way to Orlando/Daytona. Randy is on a football team that was invited to play in a bowl game. So, we left to go to the airport early just in case we hit traffic or had an issues at the airport. We also needed to have dinner, as we weren't landing in Orlando until midnight. Once we got to the airport we had a couple of snags. I tried to go through security with Kendall but didnt ha e on my ticket infant. So, I had to walk to the next ticket table (6 gates down) for them to write on the stupid ticket I already had. I was not happy. Then when I meet up with the group, they had Paul sitting to the side. He had on his brace and couldnt take it off. Then his hand sent off an alarm. We later found out it was probably his mouthwash that caused it, weird. So, we finally made it through security. We had dinner at Chili's in the terminal.  Finally we got on the plane. Talan and Randy were in the row in front of me. Kendall wanted to climb back and forth. Then she pooped half way into our flight. I was like "great!" She never did go to sleep. We landed and went to get our rental. That took 45 minutes longer than the 10 it should've. Once we got out to get the car, it wasn't where it wasn't supposed to be. Mind you, its 1 am and I have 2 kids and we still had a 45 minute drive to the condo.I was pissed. Finally, we got a car and headed to our condo. We went to bed around 3. Disney tomorrow!

15 years at Texas Roadhouse

January 12 was my 15 year anniversary with Texas Roadhouse. I can remember applying for the job and thinking to myself "I've never heard of this place, what if it closes in 6 months?" Well, it didn't and I'm glad. I have many great memories. After 5.5 years in Grand Prairie as a server, bartender and key I moved on to Service Manager in Mesquite. I was not completely excited about this promotion, but I would meet my soul mate here just a few months later. Randy and I decided we wanted to get married and have a family. The hours would not allow us to do that in the way we wanted. So, I put in a years notice. In July of 2006, my boss was fired and I we devastated. He had been an amazing teacher and friend. This is when I met my current boss, Robert. He offered me the job as Bar Manager in Garland which was closer to our house. I could make my own hours. So, I agreed. In November, one of my best friends, Cindy was hired to replace me in Mesquite. I opened Garland as the bar trainer, which was a new experience. I have worked in Garland now for 6 years. I have gained some awesome friends, got married, had 2 babies all because I took a chance.
I wanted to say thanks to my mom and dad for teaching me to be loyal and work hard. I don't see that much in kids these days. I have always said, "the grass isn't always greener on the other side." Nobodys job is perfect, there will always be things you dislike about your boss or the job itself, but make sure you can leave at the end of the day saying you did all you could to do to be your best.
Thanks Robert for my awesome new purse!

Happy 70th Birthday Dad

On January 6, we tried to throw Dad a surprise 70th birthday party at Bone Daddy's in Arlington. We got there early enough, but they wouldn't let us sit down until a majority of our party had arrived. So, he was at the front door to greet most of the guests, but that was ok. We enjoyed everyone coming and spending time with Dad's family and friends. Thank you to everyone who came. Happy birthday Daddy! You are truly amazing andovee by many!

Charlie's baby shower

On January 5, we went to a baby shower for Charlie. Obviously she was already here, but Ashley and Jay still needed some things for her. Jay stayed home with Charlie as she was only a week old and 5 weeks early. We understood why Ashley didn't want to bring her. Everyone was just happy Ashley could make it. We ate, had an advice go around (kind of emotional), and Ashley opened gifts. Welcome Charlie. We hope you got everything you needed.
