Day 2 Broken Bow

On Saturday morning we woke up and had yummy waffles for breakfast. We needed our fuel for our day of trail riding. We had 3 4wheelers, a rhino and a newly purchased go cart. We set out on our adventure to find the trails. We passed up it up the first time. Finally we found where we needed to be and got everything unloaded. We headed up the road and went "off roading". At one point mom and I had to push the go cart up a hill because the engine started to smoke. We got to a part where we couldn't go any further so we turned around and went back to the cars to find another route. Best surprise of the day was the game warden sitting at the front waiting to write tickets. Apparently you can't have passengers on 4wheelers. So Randy, Troy and David all got tickets. The game warden said if they paid them right then he would only charge them $100 vs $250. So we paid the tickets and had our lunch. We rearranged people and went on our way to another trail. We were gone for about 4 hours all together. Mom and I rode together all day and laughed a lot as we bounced around and went through puddles of water. Mom, Dad, Melinda, David and I went back to the cabin while everyone else stayed behind to ride a little longer. My shower was amazing! We cooked spaghetti for dinner and played games before bed. What a fun day!

Day 3 Broken Bow

We had a fun evening playing games.

We went to look at the lake since it was so flooded we couldn't get on it.  It's crazy to see how much water there was.  The boat ramp and parking lot were completely flooded on one side.  The water on the other side had receeded some, but you can still still how flooded it was.

What a great weekend we had with all of our family.  We sure are lucky that everyone can get together and have so much fun. Our kids are very lucky to have so many wonderful grandparents. Thanks everyone for coming and celebrating Randy's birthday.

Day 1 Broken Bow

Back in December I decided I wanted to surprise Randy for his 35th birthday. I knew he would enjoy coming up to Broken Bow. I asked all of the parents to join us. We had planned on bringing the boat. But, with all of the recent rain and bad weather the lake is closed. It is flooded and there is so much debris around and in the lake. Randy was pretty disappointed about that. But we decided we would still come and make the best of it. Today was Talan's last day of school. I picked him up at 11 so we could get everything loaded up to head out. Mom, Dad, Talan and Kendall rode with me. Debbie rode with Randy. David and Melinda left after us. Then Troy and Paul headed up after he got off work. We finally got on the road about 1145. We stopped for lunch in Sulphur Springs. We then got about 40 minutes further down the road when we realized the road we needed to continue on was closed because of the recent rain and flooding. So we had to go about 30 minutes out of the way to take a different route. We finally made it to the cabin and it was absolutely amazing. It is a 5 bedroom 4 bath cabin. It has a game room and an outdoor patio with hot tub. We got everything unloaded and settled. Tonight we were having enchiladas for dinner. We ate dinner and went across the street to the go cart place. Talan and Randy did the crazy gyro thing. I can't believe Talan made it the whole time without throwing up. After our race, we had snow cones. We had a great time. We got home about 1015 and headed to bed. It had already been a long day.

1st grade is over!

Today is the last day of first grade. I can't believe it's already over. Time sure does seem to go by quickly these days. Talan has become such an amazing student. He is an AR reader. He is awesome at math. He is developed in all 1st grade curriculum. We learned that Talan has asthmatic symptoms. His allergies get the best of him and he has coughing attacks. He visited the nurse a few times this year for breathing treatments. Talan had an awesome teacher, Mrs. Stunkard. She is moving to second grade next year and we are hoping he can stay with her. She is super sweet and caring and Talan was very comfortable with her.
Talan, we are so very proud of the young man you are becoming. You are a great student and wonderful friend. We only wish the best for you but always know we are here for you no matter what!
We love you so much!
