NPL IN SHREVEPORT

Our first NPL league games took us to Shreveport for the weekend.  Talan, Debbie and I left early on Saturday morning so we could eat lunch in Shreveport. We went to a restaurant at the Margaritaville casino and hotel. It was pretty good.  We then went to check in to the hotel and get ready for the evening game. The boys took care of business and beat the Shreveport team10-1.  We then went to dinner at a pizza place down the street from the hotel.  It was perfect because we were the only people in the building.  We dropped all the kids off at the hotel and a few of us went to the Daquiri Express shop.  THAT WAS FUN!  We came back and hung out at the hotel for a bit before calling it a night.
Sunday morning the boys had an 8am game.  It was much more competitive.  We did end up winning 4-2.  Talan had a great weekend.  After the game, most of the team went to eat at Cracker Barrel before heading back home.
These were jello shots in syringes.  We celebrate in style. LOL

1st day of school 2019

Today we started the new school year. Kendall starts 3rd grade.  She will have 3 teachers this year.  It is quite the change from previous years. I know she will have a great year.  Talan starts 6th grade at Davis Intermediate.  Due to his awesome grades and test scores last year, Talan will have all preAP classes with the exception of social studies.  He also chose band as his elective. He will be doing percussion.  I know he is excited for this new year.
They both look so big to me.  Time surely doesn't seem to be slowing down at all.

new club BVB

The kids will now be playing for BVB.  It is a club out of Germany.  This is their first American based academy for kids.  Pretty exciting opportunity for the kids.  The new uniforms are pretty cool looking as well.  This is the club Christian Pulisic played for as a teen and young adult.  So it's nice to see there is a road to the next level if the kids want it.

Day 4 St. Kitts and St. Nevis

We finally made it to our first destination.  Our excursion wasnt leaving until the afternoon, so we got off the boat early to look through the shops.  I paid $20 to hold some silly monkeys. Our excursion was supposed to be a guided tour through the rainforest and island.  We thought we were driving our own jeeps. However, that was not the case. We were on some modified trucks in a caravan of about 8 different trucks.  They took us through what seemed to be the poor part of the island up through the rainforest.  We stopped at a house on top of the peak to take some pictures and hear some history of the island.  We finished our tour at a beach and restaurant that were questionable.  Randy seems to think they were letting raw sewage out into the ocean. It's what it looked like.  I will say that this is the first excursion we have been on that we felt disappointed.
We got back to the shiip and napped before dinner. We were back in the main dining room tonight.  After dinner we hung out on the promenade waiting for the 80s party.  This was my favorite.  We sang along to every song and danced the whole time.

Cruising Day 3

Day 3 was another day at sea.  We spent time at the pool today.  They did the belly flop contest.  It was kind of disappointing.  The biggest guy always wins, even when he's not good. We also watched a little parade/show they did on the promenade.  Different things to keep you busy during the day. We also watched the Family Fued game show.  That was funny.  The answers some of these people came up with were hilarious.  We had dinner at Izumi the hibachi restaurant.  We had a great chef who seemed dilerious, so dinner took a little longer than what we are used to but it was really good.  We then went to the ice skating show.  The things these people can do in such a small space is amazing!

Cruising day 2

Day 2 is a cruising day spent at sea.  We spent some time in the morning hanging out at the sports bar.  We watch the tennis final and some cricket.  We met a nice family from Scotland that was able to explain cricket to us.  It made it much more interesting to watch knowing the rules.  Tonight was formal night.  We had dinner in the main dining room.  I had filet and I thought it was great.

Cruise Day 1

We arrived at the port early for the first time ever on a cruise. I was excited to get on the ship and get all of the logistics out of the way so we could enjoy the full day on board.  We were cruising on the Symphony of the Seas which is the largest cruise ship in the world!! We hung out for a bit, finally got into our room and then were able to be on deck for the sail away.  We had dinner in the Solarium.  It was really good.  It's a buffet but with better food than the everyday buffet offered in the Windjammer.  We were able to see Hairspray and the water show called Hiro.  Both were really good.  We then waited until the balloon drop at midnight and then headed off to bed.
