2 months

So, on Monday, May 19 we went and had family pictures taken. Talan did a really good job for only being 2 months old. Interesting that the pictures really don't look him in real life, although he is that chunky. Troy's girlfriend Ashley took the pictures for us, she works at Kiddie Kandids. She also gave us a discount. Thanks Ashley!!!
On Thursday, May 22, Talan went to the pediatrician to have his 2 month shots. So, on this visit we found out that he weighs 14lbs. 12oz. That puts him in the 95th percentile. He is 23.5 inches long which puts him in the 75th percentile. My little boy isn't staying little very long. So after his baby physical, the nurse was ready to do the shots. I tried and tried to distract him, but yeah that didn't work. Talk about red and loud. He did not like that part of the visit for sure. He cried until we got home, which luckily was only 10 minutes away, and then fell asleep. I am happy to say that he had no reaction to the shots.
On Saturday, May 24, we went to have dinner with the Weston side of the family. This was the first time that David's parents and sisters had seen Talan. Nana had handmade a blanket for Talan that has both his and her name on it. It is beautiful. I hope this will be the blanket that Talan keeps until he is 27 like the holy blanket Randy still sleeps with.
I can't believe it has already been 2 months. Time really does fly by. I can't explain the feeling when he looks at me and smiles. He is beginning to "talk" and he rolled over by himself for the first time on Sunday. If he doesn't stop growing Mommy won't be able to carry him around much longer.

MOTHER'S DAY

SO, FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO KNOW ME, YOU KNOW HOW LONG I'VE WANTED A BABY. WELL NOW THAT WE HAVE TALAN I CAN'T IMAGINE MY LIFE BEFORE OR WITHOUT HIM. I USED TO WALK AROUND WORK PLAYING WITH THE BABIES AND TALKING TO ALL THE KIDS, I THINK THAT'S HOW I MADE IT THROUGH SO MANY OF THOSE SHIFTS. I HAVE BABYSAT NUMEROUS BABIES OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS. NOW I HAVE MY BEAUTIFUL LITTLE TALAN THAT NO ONE CAN COMPARE TO. I SIT HERE SOMEDAYS JUST STARING AT HIM WONDERING IF HE WILL EVER KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE HIM AND THAT I WOULD DO ANYTHING TO MAKE SURE HE WAS ALWAYS SAFE. EVERYONE KEEPS TELLING ME THAT CHILDREN GROW UP SO FAST AND THEY WERE NOT KIDDING. TALAN IS ONLY 8 WEEKS AND HE JUST AMAZES ME EVERYDAY.
THERE WAS A TIME WHERE I WASN'T SO NICE TO MY MOM, I THREW A HAIRDRYER AT HER, YELLED AT HER, SAID HATEFUL THINGS TO HER. I COULDN'T HAVE IMAGINED THEN HOW I MUST HAVE MADE HER FEEL, BUT I HOPE I HAVE MADE UP FOR THOSE AWFUL THINGS. I NOW THINK MY MOM MUST HAVE BEEN GIVEN A GIFT FROM GOD. TO STAY AT HOME AND RAISE 4 GIRLS WHILE YOUR HUSBAND TRAVELS TO SUPPORT YOUR FAMILY, I JUST DON'T KNOW. MY SON IS THE GREATEST GIFT RANDY COULD'VE GIVEN ME. I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT THROUGH THOSE YUCKY YEARS WHERE HE PROBABLY WON'T LIKE ME HOLDING HIM OR KISSING HIM THAT I CAN REMEMBER MY FIRST MOTHER'S DAY. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW SPECIAL I FEEL WHEN I HOLD HIM, KISS HIM, OR WHEN HE FALLS ASLEEP IN BETWEEN US AND LOOKS SO PEACEFUL. TODAY WAS A GREAT DAY! WE SAW RANDY'S MOM AND GRANDMOTHER AND THEN GOT TO SEE MY MOM. I HOPE THEIR DAY ALTHOUGH THEY'VE HAD A COUPLE MORE THAN ME WAS AS GREAT AS MINE.
