Bon Jovi

Randy suprised me with Bon Jovi tickets.  I was kind of nervous that I wouldn't know enough of their songs to enjoy the concert, but i ended up knowing enough.  They were one of my favorite bands growing up and I had never seen them in concert.  For being old, they sure did know how to put on a show.  They were totally engaged and playing the whole time.  What a great night!

FC Dallas game

Talan was invited to the FC Dallas game to celebrate Gabe's birthday.  We had such a good time with all of the soccer boys and their families.  We tailgated in the parking lot before the game with pizza and cake.  It ended up being a really hot day.  I ended up with a lovely sunburn.  Kendall had soccer games so they weren't able to join in the fun with us.

All District Choir

Talan decided he wanted to try out for all district choir and he made it.  I wanted to email his music teacher and ask if there were only 13 kids that tried out because we are not a musically talented family.  But I was proud of him for going out of his comfort zone.  The show was at Wylie High.  While we were there we were able to see some of Talan's art work that had been chosen for display.  This kid works so hard.  It was a good show.  I really like the music they performed.  The last song they sang was a song that every choir sings each year for all district choir.  I thought that was special.
This was one of those nights we had to divide and conquer as a family. The girls were asked to come to the Mckinney High School girls varsity game.  They got to be ball girls and scrimmage at half time.  I think they really enjoyed the experience.  We were all done about the same time, so we went and met the ENTIRE soccer team and their families for dinner.  It was quite interesting at first, but we made it work. Fun was had by all. Thanks to mom and dad and Debbie for coming to see Talan perform.  I know he appreciated having them there.

Talan turns 10!

Can someone please pinch me and wake me up? It's not possible for me to be celebrating my baby's 10th birthday.
We started off at Gatsplat for some paintball fun.  Talan is not one for pain, so I was suprised he picked this.  I was just waiting for one of the boys to get popped real good one time before they all quit.  The adult boys ganged up on the littles just a bit.  But they were all smiles for the most part.  Kendall came off crying because she got hit on the top of the fingers a few times.  Talan ended up with 2 really good bruises almost on top of each other.  Luckily this was all towards the end and we were almost out of paint.  Of course we had to have Messi thrown in somehow to the party.  I figured since it was World Cup year we would do the Argentina colors.

Later on that evening we celebrated with family at Benihana.  It's not the ideal place for 30 people, but it is our family tradition to have dinner here for birthdays. Since the cousins were too little for paintball, we wanted everyone to come to dinner to celebrate.  We had a wonderful time and were so appreciative to everyone for coming.

To my #1 son:  you amaze me everyday. I could not have imagined 10 years ago what you would have brought to my life.  I have loved every minute...Every hard minute, every tired minute, every smiling minute, every happy minute.  You are an amazing friend, brother and son.  You are smart and do very well in school. I never did like soccer much before I was able to watch you.  I love watching you play.  I love watching you grow.  Keep being amazing at everything you do!
I love you to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond and all the stars and Pluto!
