Lake Murray 2017

We rented a floating cabin on Lake Murray in Oklahoma as our last hoorah before school started.  When we got there to check in, they had upgraded us for free to a bigger cabin.  It was really nice and pretty cool to be right there on the water.  

We took the boat out on the lake on Monday after we got all set up and had dinner.  The water was beautiful.  It was so still, like glass. We played bingo later on that evening.  Talan and Mom won and I won 3x. 

Tuesday, I drove back for work but while I was gone everyone else went for a trail ride.  Troy broke the swamp buggy that we borrowed. whoops.  Later everyone went for a boat ride. They played putt putt and had snow cones.  

On Wednesday I drove back and we decided to go back out on the trails.  We gained a family that was from Colleyville. We had a lot of fun until we completely broke the swamp buggy. WHOOPS! So we decided to go back to the cabin. We made dinner and played Krazy Bee.  Randy ended up winning.

A storm was coming in and we didn't put the boat up.  Randy thought he got it tied up well until we were woken up at 1:30am to wind throwing it up against the cabin.  We went out and moved the boat to the backside of the cabin to keep it out of the wind and waves.  It was so cold and kind of scary.  But once we got it moved, all was fine. 

We packed up and headed home on Thursday.  It was a fun and relaxing few days.

Spring Break 2017

We have been talking about going to the In Sync Wildlife Exhibit for a couple of years now.  We finally decided to take the kids today.  It is a rescue facility for different types of cats: lions, tigers, bobcats.  It was nice to see these animals up close, but it was sad that they are just stuck in these cages. One tiger for instance had been purchased by a family for their children as a pet after they had watched Lion King.  Excuse me? They soon realized they would not be able to care for this animal and turned him over to the rescue facility.  At least they were responsible in that regard.  

It was a beautiful day for our adventure.  Afterwards, we went to have lunch at Red Robin.  It was a fun day.  Unfortunately, we were missing Ashley, Charlie, Jay, Randy and Billy.

Spring Break 2017 Painting Day

I thought it would be fun to take the kids painting.  Kendall and Talan love to draw and color so I thought this would be perfect.  I decided not to paint so I could help them just in case.  I have to say that was a good decision on my part! LOL 

Talan did a majority of his.  I helped outline Kendall's flowers and do the accents.  She painted the insides and added the lovely dots.  Parker appreciated the part where he didn't have to follow instructions.  Adrian did his all on his own. I think they had a fun time and they have something to remember the day.  

After we were done, we went and had lunch at Frankies.  I might be selfish, but I was so happy Joanna and Parker were able to join us for something!! It's been a long time waiting for them to come home.

Kendall's new uniform

Randy decided he wanted the girls to have "real" soccer uniforms this season.  He purchased all of the kits for the girls and we added the name on the front and their names and numbers on the back.  They look so awesome in them.  Talan had 2 games. Then Kendall had 1.  We went to dinner afterwards at El Fenix with Grammy and Baba, Grammy, Troy, Matt, Debra, Ryleigh, Alyssa, Heather and Estevan. We then decided we needed dessert.  So we drove to Grifs up in Allen.  They have super awesome make your own cookie ice cream sandwiches.  To say we were stuffed would be an understatement. 

Talan loses a tooth

This is funny to me because Talan doesn't lose teeth on his own.  All of his teeth so far have had to be pulled out by our dentist.

Texas de Brazil night out

I had received a gift card to Texas de Brazil from work so I planned an adults night out.  The food and company were awesome.  I was so stuffed, but I wanted to make sure I got my money's worth!

Valentine's Day 2017

I was able to go up to the kids school for their Valentine's Party before I had to go to work. They both got way too much candy, but enjoyed the festivities. 

When I got out of work, I had roses and a card in my car from my 3 Valentines. 

 I made our shirts for Valentine's Day.  I think they turned out pretty cute.

 Troy is always ruining my pictures.  I told him he was not allowed in anymore! LOL
