"In tears we saw you sinking,
We watched you fade away
You faced your task with courage,
Your spirit did not bend.
And still you kept on fighting
Until the very end.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you
And whispered "Come to Me"
So when we saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain,
We could not wish you back
To suffer that again."
On August 31, 2016 we said "see you again" to Paul.
This man has fought the good fight. He was put through more in the last 8 years than many in a lifetime. He did it all with a smile on his face and managed to find a way to still make it to everything.
I remember him telling us when he was diagnosed with cancer that he didn't think he would live long enough for Talan to know who he was. BUT he did.
Then he told us there was no way he would live long enough for Kendall to know him. BUT he did.
They will have the best memories of him. I know there were probably weekends that he didn't feel like it, or wanted to just sit at home and wither away. BUT he didn't. He made the most out of this life he was given. The kids were extremely sad when we went to say our "see you laters". But I know that they will always remember Little Papa being at everything. We miss you Paul. But we are so thankful you are not suffering any longer.
