Congrats Veronica

One of my good friends graduated from law school today.  We are so proud of her accomplishment.  We celebrated with a graduation lunch with her family and friends at The Reata in Fort Worth.  Afterwards, we went to her apartment and hung out for a bit. 

That night we went to dinner and had some drinks.  If anyone needs a lawyer, let me know!!!

 

Field day

Kendall and I went to Talan's school today to hang out and watch field day.  It's not the same as when I was in school.  Now everything is focused on fun and everyone being a winner.  Boo on that ideology in my opinion.  Unfortunately, the world does not work that way.  But whatever, the kids had fun and I guess that is what matters at this age.  They played tug of war, had 3 bounce houses, had a water race, and played a couple of relay races. 

 

Happy Mother's Day

I was having to work on Mother's Day and our soccer game was early, so we wouldn't be able to go over to Mom and Dad's to celebrate like usual.  Mom and Dad came up on Saturday to meet us for dinner at BJ's and go to Talan's soccer game.  We had a good dinner as usual. When I got home that night, my parents had left me a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of them.

My mom is my best friend.  I know that whenever I need her she will be there. I may not have always been the best daughter, but I wouldn't be where I am without her standing by me.  I am the person and mother I am today because she was an amazing role model. I am thankful that my children can call her Grammie!

I have been blessed with 2 amazing Mother in Laws.  They are giving and loving and treat me as their own.  They love my children unconditionally.  I don't know what we would do without them.

Teacher appreciation and Kindergarten musical

Mrs. Rainey has been a wonderful teacher to Talan this year.  We are so blessed and happy with how far Talan has come.  So, we made her this "flower pot" of Target gift cards to let her go shop for some goodies for herself.  If I know her at all, she will probably spend it on stuff for the kids in the class. She loves to give them books.  

We went to the school to see the Kindergarten musical. Talan hadn't told us much about it, so we didn't really know what to expect.  Talan did a really good job of participating and singing the songs. After, we went to Dairy Queen to get ice cream for a job well done.

Talan's allergy testing

I took Talan took see an allergy doctor.  During the Spring, he gets hit pretty badly.  We have been using nasal spray and inhalers to try to give him some relief.  We knew that he was allergic to mold, but this testing was more in depth.  We found out he is also allergic to grass and cockroaches.  That kind of creeped me out, but he said it was normal for people who live in big cities. There wasn't anything that really stood out that would make us have to come back weekly for allergy shots.  So, for the time being we keep with our same regimen.  The inhaler helps calm him down when he is having a coughing attack.  We will also continue the nasal spray and allergy medicine.
