Ouch

So on a lovely Friday night at Texas Roadhouse, I cut myself on a glass. Luckily it was close to closing so we werent so busy. One of the guys drove me up to the emergency room while Randy drove to meet me. I called mom when I was sitting in the waiting room. She couldn't understand anything I was saying because I was crying. Once they got me back to the room they started to clean it out. I would advise never watching the numbing part. Holy crap that hurt.  The Dr was shoving his hand into my wrist making sure there was no glass left over. Then he started the stitches. It didn't take too long. I tried to go to work the next morning but the pain meds had me all kinds of messed up. So I left and went home to pass out. I never really felt better until about 8 that night. I went to get the stitches out about 2 weeks later and it looks horrible. I have a terrible scar but oh well. Scars are just stories we can tell later.

Lake Cypress Springs

Randy's Aunt Barbie and her husband have a lake house at Lake Cypress Springs.  They invited us to come down for the weekend.  We had to leave after a soccer game so we got there a little late but everyone was up waiting for us.  We woke up in the morning and had breakfast on the patio outside.  It was beautiful.  We went out on the boat and had fun riding jet skis.  It was a nice time.  We don't get to see that side of the family often and it's always nice to catch up.

Kid Mania

We needed a day out so we called up some friends and went to Kid Mania in Plano.  Its an indoor playground and the kids love it.  It's cheap and air conditioned.  A couple of the kids from Talan's kindergarten class joined us as well.

4th of July

Randy has a client who's office is at the Addison airport.  They invited us out to watch fireworks for the 4th of July.  We had dinner and a great seat to the airshow before the fireworks.  

LA 2014

Our adult trip was to LA this summer. We were celebrating Veronica's graduation from law school and Avery's graduation from nursing school.  We arrived on Friday morning and went straight to the beach.  I was able to meet up with my cousin Amir for lunch.  I was so happy to see him. We spent a couple of hours at the beach while we were waiting to check into our rental house.  Once we got to the house we were so disappointed.  The house itself was perfect but it had not been cleaned since the last people left.  I was so annoyed trying to get in touch with the guy.  Finally the cleaning crew showed up while we were all getting ready to head out for the evening.  We went and had a nice dinner and tried to hit some bars but that was a mess. We finally just went home to start over on Saturday.

We got up the next morning to head to Venice Beach.  We had breakfast on the beach.  We walked down the boardwalk just watching and checking everything out.  We did get to see a few muscle guys working out and even a little bit of a bikini contest.  They had a lot of shopping and street performers.  We went down and hung out on the beach for a bit before heading back to the house.  We had dinner reservations in dowtown LA and a VIP table at a club.  We had an absolute blast.  Unfortunately a couple of us had a little too much fun because we were supposed to get up early on Sunday to go to Universal but didn't make it out the door until 10:30.

We went to have some lunch but it didn't help Randy feel any better.  He dropped us off at the park and went back to the house to hang out for the day.  We had a good time at Universal.  Randy, Veronica and Lauren met up with us after we left the park to have dinner on the Boardwalk.   We headed back to the house after dinner to hang out and pack to leave on Monday.
