Virginia

Grandma passed away last year.  It took a year for it to work out for all us to be able to get together and be in Virginia for her internment.  I am so glad that Mom and Gerald pushed for this to happen. It had been too long since the Bakers and Sharghis had been together.  I am sad for the reasoning though. We flew in on Friday afternoon and went straight to Aunt Ann's house to have dinner and visit with everyone.
On Saturday, we had breakfast and headed to the gravesite. It was a rainy day, but we made it work. Mom and Gerald both spoke about their memories of their mom.  It was very emotional and I know Grandma, Grandpa, Jan, and John were looking down on us smiling and happy we were all there.  When we got done, we all went back to the hotel to get a few family pictures while we were all dressed up.  Afterwards, we went back to Ann's to eat and spend more time with the family.  There was bbq, fireworks, cake and a bounce house for the kids.  It was a great time with family.
We are so thankful for Ann's hospitality.

Happy Birthday Randy

We took our normal trip to Benihanas for a family birthday.  It was good as usual and we always appreciate the wonderful company. Thanks to everyone who was able to join us.

Championship Football

Randy played with the North Texas Longhorns again this year.  Once again we made it to the Championship game.  This year we didn't have such a good result.  I wish that we would have won as this is the last year Randy will be playing.  One of Talan's soccer teammates and his family came to the game to cheer Randy on.  I know that meant a lot to him.  As we were taking pictures, we found out their car had been broken into along with 4 other cars in the parking lot.  I felt so bad that they had driven all this way to support Randy and this happened.  The police came and took a report.  We tried to help get all the glass out of the car so they could drive home. So it ended up being a pretty crappy night all around.

Last day of Kindgergarten

I am not sure how this day got here so quickly.  I am so proud of Talan and his love for school.  We had an amazing teacher in Mrs. Rainey and hope we have many more awesome teachers.  Talan made a lot of friends and even has a girlfriend he won't admit to. It really does go by so fast.
Talan,
I am so proud of how well you took to school.  You are always ready to learn and eager for the next day. You are kind hearted and everyone is drawn to your sweet personality.  I can't believe you are already done with kindergarten.  It's like we just brought you home from the hospital.  Keep doing your best and I know you will do amazing things!
Love, Mom

Field trip to the Zoo

I chaperoned the last field trip of the year to the zoo. It was pretty warm outside as it was the beginning of June.  The kids were so excited to see all of the exhibits.  They were well behaved for the most part. Of course, Talan and Caden were inseperatble.
